Blake Hudson, bass, has quickly established himself as a talented operatic performer at the beginning of his professional career. As a young artist, he has performed with St. Petersburg Opera, Sarasota Opera and the FIO Americas summer program.
Recent performances have included La Traviata with Opera Tampa, in which he covered the role of Marchese d’Obigny, and Carmen with St. Petersburg Opera, in which he covered the role of Zuniga.
Mr. Hudson’s mainstage appearances include the roles of Frère Laurent in Roméo et Juliette with Maryland Lyric Opera, Don Alfonso in Così fan Tutte with Florida Opera Theatre, and the Usciere in Rigoletto with Opera Tampa. Other notable roles for him have included Prince Gremin in Eugene Onegin, Alidoro in La Cenerentola, and Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd.
His upcoming performances will include the role of Radio Operator Bob McCaffrey in St. Petersburg Opera’s 2016 production of South Pacific. Mr. Hudson received his B.M. in Music Education from Furman University and his M.M. in Voice Performance from Florida State University. He currently resides in Tampa, Florida.
