American Baritone Clayton Brown is a native of Dallas, Texas currently living and performing in New York City.
Hailed for “physically and vocally selling the song like no other” (Broadway World), Clayton has had a stage career ranging from Musical Theatre and Opera to Concert and Jazz/Gospel.
His previous engagements with Maestro Sforzini include Perchik in Fiddler on the Roof with Ash Lawn Opera (2014) and Putting It Together as Man #3 with St. Petersburg Opera Company.
His most recent Musical Theatre credits include Fredrik in A Little Night Music and Billis in South Pacific with Ash Lawn Opera. His recent Opera roles include Marcello in La Bohème in the historical Teatro Signorelli in Italy, Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance with Opera Providence, Balstrode cover in Britten’s Peter Grimes with Chautauqua Opera, and Dr. Pyron in Bernard Rand’s Vincent with Opera America.
Over the past year, his concert work includes Brahms German Requiem and Fauré Requiem as baritone soloist with Fifth Avenue Presbyterian and Duruflé Requiem as baritone soloist with Morristown Presbyterian.
Clayton was a soloist with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra for the United States tour of Abyssinian Mass led by the esteemed trumpet player and composer Winton Marsalis, which is now available for purchase on iTunes.
