Heather Green soprano is enjoying an exciting 2017! In May, Ms. Green made her critically anticipated debut in the title role of Richard Strauss’s Salome with West Bay Opera in California. She is now looking forward to participating in SPO’s production of Into the Woods.
Heather’s other recent roles include Isolde in Tristan und Isolde with Chatham Camerata, as well as Lady MacBeth in MacBeth and Senta in Der fliegende Holländer with Amici Opera.
Favorite performances from previous seasons include the title heroines in Elektra, Turandot, and La Gioconda, as well as Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana, and Sieglinde in Die Walküre. Ms. Green is also often involved in the works of contemporary composers, and in 2014 she traveled to Nepal with Watermoon Arts to perform the title role in the World Premiere of Patricia Burgess’s Yeshe, Queen of Tibet. She has also performed in New York City at the World Premieres of Yoav Gal’s Mosheh (as Bitia) and Three Weeks (as Aspasianus), and Thomas Carlo Bo’s Shadows of the City (as Lizzie).
She is a two-time recipient of the Mellon Grant for Creative Research, a finalist in the Career Bridges Vocal Scholarship Competition, and a recipient of the LISMA Scholarship. Ms. Green has trained with Elysium Between Two Continents Academy (in Germany), and Spoleto Vocal Arts Symposium (in Italy), and holds a B.F.A. in Sculpture from the Pratt Institute.
