Cuban-American tenor Héctor Manuel Mir hails from Miami, Florida. The 2016 summer season took him to China where he sang with the iSing Festival in performances in Suzhou and Beijing. In 2015, Hector was an apprentice artist with Miami Summer Music Festival making his New World Center debut as a soloist alongside the MSMF Symphony Orchestra, and was also a 2015 semi-finalist of the Marcello Giordani Foundation 5th International Vocal Competition in Vero Beach, FL.
Hector is a frequent performer in concert, recital and sacred settings, appearing with the 2015 Miami International Piano Festival; the Doral Concert Series; Temple Beth Am Concert Series; and as the tenor section leader at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on Miami Beach, having sung in duet with Andrea Bocelli in 2014. He has appeared in recitals both in Anchorage, Alaska and Miami as part of the Emerging Artist series with What If Works Productions.
Hector received his Bachelor of Music from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, preceded by studies in his hometown at Miami’s New World School of the Arts. Hector currently lives in Miami where is a student of Manny Perez. This is his debut with the St. Petersburg Opera Company.
