Hailing from Jacksonville, Florida tenor Micah Callahan received his Bachelor of Music from Stetson University. While working on his undergraduate studies in Music Performance at Stetson University, Micah appeared in the roles of Don Curzio (Le Nozze di Figaro), Lacouf (Les Mamelles de Tiresias), Englishman (Angélique), Gameskeeper (Rusalka), and Aeneas (Dido and Aeneas). During his time at Stetson was awarded the William E. Duckwitz Talent Scholarship and won First Place in the Sanford Wednesday Music Club Competition.
Micah is a graduate of Louisiana State University with a Master of Music in Voice and recipient of the Baton Rouge Opera Guild Membership Scholarship. At LSU, Micah starred in Così fan tutte as Ferrando. He also performed as 2nd Loupežník (Hlas lesa, B. Martinu) and Jr. Mister in The Cradle Will Rock.
Last year Micah performed with Opera in the Ozarks. While at OIO, he performed the roles of Spalanzani in Offenbach’s The Tales of Hoffman and Gastone in Verdi’s La Traviata, as well as Des Grieux in a scene from Manon as part of the opera scenes program. He was awarded the Helen S. Boylan Foundation Scholarship for the program.
Last year Micah also made his professional debut with the St. Petersburg Opera as cover of Remendado in their production of Carmen. Micah is returning to SPO as the cover of Ruiz.
