With over 20 roles in her performance repertoire, soprano Samantha Geraci-Yee delivers a rich and powerful sound in the opera, concert, and musical theater genres. Recently finishing her second season as a Resident Artist with Central Florida Lyric Opera, Samantha’s versatility has been seen at CFLO as Gilda (Rigoletto), Liat (South Pacific), Miss Silverpeal (The Impresario), Tuptim (The King and I), Flora and Annina (La Traviata), and Eliza Doolittle (My Fair Lady).
In addition to her performances with CFLO for the 2014-15 season, Samantha also performed the role of Noémie (Cendrillon) for the Miami Summer Music Festival. Her 2013-14 season included multiple firsts: her professional symphony debut as Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) with the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra, company debuts with Long Beach Opera, Vineyard Touring Opera Company, and Pacific Opera Project, and placing in the finals for the Classical Singer Competition and the Burbank Philharmonic Orchestra’s Young Artist Competition.
Previous seasons include performances with Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, Independent Opera Company, OperaWorks, Emerald City Opera, AIMS (Graz, Austria), Janiec Opera Company at Brevard Music Center, Pacific Opera Encore Performances, Poor Richard’s Opera, and City Garage Theatre, for whom she created the role of Clio in the world premiere of Orestes 3.0: Inferno by Charles L. Mee.
Committed to community engagement and education, Samantha has been on the roster of the Los Angeles Opera Education and Community Programs as well as the Los Angeles branch of Opera on Tap. She holds degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music and Temple University. SPO is thrilled to welcome her to its stage for South Pacific.
