Bass-baritone Timothy Wilt, a native of Seminole, Florida has earned a Master’s degree in Voice Performance from Florida State University and a Bachelor’s in Clarinet and Voice Performance from the University of South Florida.
His professional operatic credits include covering the roles of Priest, 2nd Priest, 2nd Armed Man, and Sprecher from Die Zauberflöte, and Zuniga in Carmen with Opera Tampa. While attending Florida State, Mr. Wilt has performed as Leporello in Don Giovanni, Father Trulove in The Rake’s Progress, and Man with a Cornet Case/Puppet Maker in Postcard from Morocco. Recently, Mr. Wilt was invited back to FSU as a professional where he created the collegiate premier of Carlisle Floyd’s new opera Prince of Players as the lead Thomas Betterton.
Mr. Wilt’s solo concert works include Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Bach’s Magnificat and Cantata BWV 4, and Handel’s Messiah. He has appeared in Masterclasses with distinguished performers and collaborators such as Caren Levine, Warren Jones, and Stephanie Blythe.
In 2015, Mr. Wilt made his European debut in Italy performing the roles of Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte and Simone in Gianni Schicchi with the Music Academy International Festival Orchestra.
