Tripp Fountain, a Colorado native, grew up studying all things music and theater with the support of his wonderful family. In high school, in addition to performing in productions and playing trombone in the band, he was also performing in regional theater and studying at both the Colorado Springs Conservatory and the Colorado Jazz Dance Company. While attending NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Tripp took several leaves of absence to take advantage of performance opportunities, including national tours of EVITA and CATS, and though it took a couple extra years, he finally graduated with a BFA in Drama and Minor in Psychology.
Tripp then went back on the road with the 1st National touring company of the recent revival of HAIR, a show that also gave him his Broadway debut at the St. James Theatre. Other favorites include Chicago, Spamalot, Peter Pan, and Altar Boyz.
Tripp enjoys directing and choreographing as well, recently collaborating with his brother, Drew Fountain; some recent productions include Cabaret, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Oklahoma! (which also included the youngest Fountain sibling, Aubrey, as a featured dancer.)
When not singing and dancing around the country, Tripp is based out of New York City, where he is surrounded by the most fantastic friends; a favorite endeavor is performing their new and developing material – it makes him very excited for the future of theater. Tripp has always had a passion for Sondheim, and performed the lead role of Man 2 in SPO’s season nine production of Putting It Together.
