AUDITIONS FOR PRINCIPAL AND COMPRIMARIO ROLES AND POSITIONS IN
OUR EMERGING ARTIST PROGRAM AND CHORUS FOR THE 2019/2020 SEASON

Auditions will be held APRIL 4, 5, 6, and 8, 2019  in NEW YORK CITY and APRIL 12, 15, and 16, 2019  in ST. PETERSBURG at the company’s main stage performance venue, the Palladium Theater.

SPO hears both managed and unmanaged singers at these auditions, but auditions are granted by invitation only upon review of artist materials. To apply for an audition, you must email your complete application to Michael Roberts, Artistic Administrator, at office@stpeteopera.org .
Please do not write the Artistic Director, Mark Sforzini, with your request.
Requests from agents as well as unmanaged singers will only be handled through Michael Roberts, Artistic Administrator.
Only completed applications will be considered, and shall be handled on a first come first serve basis.

A completed application includes
1) cover letter, 2) resume, 3) headshot, and 4) the repertoire list you intend to offer at the audition.
Applications lacking any of these components will not be considered.

Please do not send audio files at this time unless asked to do so.
Please specify in your cover letter whether you are seeking an audition in NYC or St. Petersburg.
You may also include additional information such as the roles for which you are auditioning as well as whether you are seeking employment as a Principal or Comprimario and/or our Emerging Artist Program.

Mr. Roberts shall attempt to notify applicants of their status within a week of receipt of artist’s materials. Those accepted to audition will need to pay an application fee of $30 (cash or check) at check-in prior to auditioning. An accompanist is provided for auditions in both NYC and Florida.
You may choose to bring your own accompanist. Those artists who provide their own pianist may pay a reduced application fee of $20.

Deadline for all audition requests is March 15, 2019.

SPO will not be scheduling additional opera audition dates or private auditions.  Submitting materials before deadline does not ensure an audition.  Applicants are encouraged to apply early as the dates fill up quickly and well before the deadline.
