Noble mysticism meets earthy comedy

Myth and magic with magnificent music draw you into a fantasy world in Mozart’s ever-popular opera. The handsome Tamino and the bird catcher Papageno make quite a pair on their mission to rescue the Queen of the Night’s daughter from a secretive group of priests. From the stratospheric singing of the Queen to the lowest notes of the High Priest Sarastro, a battle is being played out with all the characters caught in between.

Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions winner Todd Wilander stars as Tamino with stage direction by Michael Unger (SPO Susannah DVD #2 pick for 2017 by Opera News).
