Brian Hupp is a performing artist in both Opera and Music Theater. He has worked with Des Moines Metro Opera, Opera on the James, Indianapolis Opera, Utah Festival Opera, Opera Columbus, Pittsburgh Festival Opera and Opera Project Columbus among others. He has also performed as a soloist with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra, Butler University Chamber Orchestra, Amherst Symphony Orchestra, Mansfield Symphony Orchestra, the Southeastern Ohio Symphony, Heisey Wind Ensemble, and the Ohio State University Orchestra. 2017-18 season highlights include Marcello in La bohème with Mid Ohio Opera, Dandini in La Cenerentola with Opera on the James, and the title role in an English adaptation of Mozart’s Don Giovanni, renamed #UncleJohn, as part of the Opera on the Edge Series, presented in collaboration with Opera Columbus and Shadowbox Theater. He was also a soloist with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra as part of their New Year’s Eve Gala, performing excerpts from Kiss Me, Kate, Die Fledermaus, and Kismet. Other notable roles include the title role in Sweeney Todd, Tarquinius in The Rape of Lucretia, Sky Masterson in Guys & Dolls, El Gallo in The Fantasticks, Le Dancaïre in Carmen, Schaunard in La bohème, Marquis in La Traviata, and Fiorello in Il barbiere di Siviglia.
