A key tenet of St. Petersburg Opera Co.’s mission is to make opera accessible to present and future audiences through community outreach and educational initiatives. Opera not only lives to showcase beautiful singing accompanied by gorgeous orchestral arrangements, but also to tell relevant and poignant stories, to teach life’s lessons and history in an engaging and entertaining way, and to move our souls. From classroom visits to elementary, middle, and high schools throughout Tampa Bay, to free performances and Flash Mobs in unlikely public spaces, to lifelong learning lectures throughout our community,
St. Petersburg Opera Co. is continuously challenging the mindset that opera is a thing of the past.
