The Mirella Cimato Art Gallery has a new Pinocchio-inspired exhibit featuring the works of artists from Creative Clay.
Since 2014, St. Petersburg Opera and Creative Clay students have collaborated to create artwork inspired by SPO productions.
The artists from Creative Clay prepare by listening to the music, sketching, and creating paintings inspired by the music and the story, and often attend opera rehearsals for inspiration.
St. Petersburg Opera Board of Directors Vice-President Dee Perconti shared her thoughts on this long-time partnership, “I am proud of the collaboration between Creative Clay and SPO.” Dee added, “Having been a member of the Board of Creative Clay, I know that they live their messages of ‘making the arts accessible to all’ and ‘equality through art.’ They change the lives of artists with disabilities.”
Creative Clay’s mission is to help people with disabilities achieve full and inclusive lives through access to the arts by providing expressive, educational, and vocational experiences.
All sales from this art exhibit benefit the artists
of Creative Clay and the St. Petersburg Opera.
