Taylor-Alexis DuPont is a Mezzo-Soprano from Orlando, Florida. She is honored to be a part of Studio 410 under the expertise of world renowned singer Denyce Graves. Miss DuPont has performed operas & concerts with many companies & venues including the Glimmerglass Music Festival, iSing Music Festival, Peabody Institute, Florida State Opera, Bel Cantanti Opera Company, & Opera Orlando.
Previously, Taylor has performed the roles of Prince Ratmir from Glinka’s Ruslan & Ludmilla, Dorabella from Mozart’s Così Fan Tutte, Le Prince Charmant from Massenet’s Cendrillon, Lel from Rimsky-Korsakov’s Snow Maiden, Venus from Offenbach’s Orphée aux Enfers, & Adelaide Brown from Pollock’s Stinney. Taylor has also performed the partial roles of Mercédès & the title role from Bizet’s Carmen, Angelina from Rossini’s La Cenerentola, Mrs. Jones from Weill’s Street Scene, Sister Helen from Heggie’s Dead Man Walking, Didone from Cavalli’s L’Egisto, Nerone from Monteverdi’s L’Incoronazione di Poppea, Laura from Ponchielli’s La Gioconda, Charlotte from Massenet’s Werther, Idamante from Mozart’s Idomeneo, Mistress Page from Nicolai’s The Merry Wives of Windsor, Sesto from Handel’s Giulio Cesare, Hänsel from Humperdink’s Hänsel und Gretel, Malika from Delibes’ Lakmé.
Miss DuPont has also covered the roles of Annie from Gershwin’s Porgy & Bess & Zerlina from Mozart’s Don Giovanni. Before working under Opera Orlando & St. Petersburg Opera, Taylor had the privilege of studying under Denyce Graves at the Peabody Institute where she earned her Master’s in Music. Prior to her time at Peabody, Taylor earned her Bachelor’s degree at Florida State University, studying under David Okerlund. This season, Miss DuPont is excited to be again performing the title role of John Davies’ Pinocchio for St.Petersburg Opera in Florida. Next season she is preparing to become an Apprentice Artist with Sarasota Opera. She will make her Metropolitan Opera debut next season in Porgy and Bess.
