Auditions

To apply for an audition, you must email your complete application to Artistic Administrator Michael Roberts at office@stpeteopera.org. Requests from agents as well as unmanaged singers will only be handled through Michael Roberts, Artistic Administrator. Only completed applications will be considered and shall be processed and approved on a first come first serve basis. Space is limited. A completed application includes 1) cover letter, 2) resume, 3) headshot, and 4) the repertoire list you will offer at the audition. Applications lacking any of these components will not be considered. No audio files please. Please specify in your cover letter whether you are seeking an audition in NYC or St. Pete. You may also include additional information such as the role(s) for which you are auditioning as well as whether you are seeking employment as a Principal and/or our Studio/Resident/Emerging Artist Cover Programs. Mr. Roberts shall attempt to notify applicants of their status within a week of receipt of artist’s materials. An accompanist is provided for auditions in both NYC and Florida. Those accepted to audition will need to pay a fee of $25 (cash or check payable to St. Pete Opera) for the pianist at check-in prior to auditioning. You may choose to bring your own accompanist. Those artists who use their own pianist may pay a reduced application fee of $10 at check-in. The deadline to apply for an audition in either city is March 15, 2023. Applicants are encouraged to apply early as the dates fill up quickly and well before the deadline. SPO will not be scheduling additional opera audition dates or private auditions.
